RAJOURI, June 21: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, conducted a public outreach camp at Darhal as part of the weekly Block Diwas program, where he listened to the issues and concerns of the local population. During the event, various issues were raised by the public, including power and water supply, healthcare facilities, roads, and education. Specific concerns such as the need for an open-air gym facility, promotion of tourism, construction of a revenue complex and munsif court, and the poor condition of roads were also highlighted. The DDC, Vikas Kundal, patiently heard the grievances of the public and assured them that their legitimate demands would be addressed promptly. He reiterated the District Administration’s commitment to development and its endeavors to provide government services efficiently to the people. DDC Kundal urged the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to play an active role in the development of their respective areas and ensure that all developmental projects are completed within the stipulated time, adhering to high-quality standards. He also mentioned the various government schemes and programs designed for the welfare of the youth and encouraged them to take advantage of these initiatives to earn a livelihood with dignity. The DDC instructed the concerned officers to take immediate action in resolving the issues raised during the public outreach program. Regarding the scarcity of drinking water facilities, he assured the public that functional tap water connections would be provided to every household in the block through the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects. Similarly, for the shortage of electricity poles, he assured that an adequate number of poles would be provided under the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RDSS) scheme of the Power sector. The public outreach camp at Darhal witnessed the District Administration’s dedication to transparency and accountability, as the DDC attentively addressed the concerns of the public. The event highlighted the administration’s commitment to making government services more accessible and transparent to the public. Additionally, the DDC visited the site where a new building block, consisting of 14 classrooms, is to be constructed at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Malkan. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 4.92 crore, aims to improve the school’s infrastructure and cater to the increasing demand for quality education in the region.
