Vijaypur, June 21: On Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee conducted a public hearing at Khatri Palace, Vijaypur Samba, regarding the Environmental Clearance of Minor Mineral (River Bed Material) Block 1/4 and Block 1/6 Upstream NH1A railway bridge Devak River, Samba. The public hearing witnessed the participation of the residents of Gurha Slathia and Thalori Brahmna villages, along with their public representatives, BDC Chairman, Sarpanches/Panches, and respected individuals from the area. During the proceeding, H.S. Galoch (AEE), representing the Regional Director of JKPCC Jammu, explained the significance of conducting a public hearing, while the project consultant from M/s P&M Solution, Noida (UP), provided detailed information about the salient features, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and Environmental Management Plan of the project. Various speakers raised concerns and posed queries related to mining, which were thoroughly discussed. Rakesh Dubey (JKAS), Additional Deputy Commissioner of Samba, and Sh. Randeep Singh, Mineral Supervisor representing the District Mineral Officer of Samba, also attended the public hearing. They addressed the gathering and assured that all important issues and concerns raised by the affected people would be recorded through videography and incorporated into the report to be submitted to the Competent Authority. Deepak Abrol, Divisional Officer of JKPCC, Samba (South), provided individual briefings on the public hearing and Environmental Clearance, and responded to the queries raised by the public during the proceeding. Subash Chander (DM), JKPCC, Samba (South), served as the anchor for the proceeding and expressed gratitude to the chairperson and all the participants. |
