Kallpoosh, Loomba Foundations raise awareness on International Widows Day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 25: Kallpoosh Foundation, in collaboration with Loomba Foundation, organized a significant event at IIT Jammu to observe International Widows Day 2023. The daylong session aimed to create awareness and actively engage widows through interactive discussions. Various resource persons delivered lectures, sharing their ideas and opinions on how to improve the lives and futures of widows who face societal challenges after the loss of their husbands. Retired Justice Sunil Hali, Former Judge of J&K High Court, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event also welcomed esteemed guests including Barinder Singh, Marketing Manager at LIC, Suresh Choudhary, AGM, and Atul Sethi, Chief Manager. Prof. Manoj K Aggarwal from IIT Jammu and Er. Kuldeep S Bhatia, Registrar from J&K Board of Tech. Edu., served as Special Guests. The resource persons included Ramesh Raina, Financial Inclusion from SBI; Khushboo Kapthe, a Motivational Speaker and Gender Specialist; Dr. Ganesh from JIAR, discussing nutrition; Adv. Meenu Padha, shedding light on legal and human rights; Paramveer Nandal, presenting technology tools for business; Himanshi, a counselor focusing on human behavior; Naresh, emphasizing the need for skill development; Payal Saraf, discussing entrepreneurship; and Shashi Thakur, a retired DSP. Justice (Rtd) Sunil Hali expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Loomba Foundation and Kallpoosh Foundation, emphasizing that such initiatives play a crucial role in helping the deserving members of society. He highlighted International Widows Day as an important milestone to draw attention to the marginalized section of society who face societal taboos due to the loss of their partners. Justice Hali encouraged people to come forward and contribute to such endeavors, particularly in uplifting widows from underprivileged backgrounds. During the interactive session, the resource persons addressed pertinent questions from the attending widows, sharing insights on improving their lives and offering support. They also shared their contact details, assuring the widows of continued assistance in addressing their grievances. The event commenced with a warm welcome by King C Bharati, JKUT Coordinator of Kallpoosh Foundation. Bouquets were presented to the dignitaries by Veena Wanchoo, Chairperson of Kallpoosh Foundation, who also highlighted the contributions of Loomba Foundation and Kallpoosh Foundation. R Wanchoo, Team Leader of Kallpoosh Foundation, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the IIT Jammu Management for their resources and facilities. The program was expertly compered by King C Bharati, while Chushul Mahaldar, a social activist, and young actor, and Ishu Bharati Pandit, an activist, managed the program arrangements. Kallpoosh Foundation is a registered not-for-profit company under Section 8 of the Indian Companies Act, 2013, operating under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. It is a national-level socio-cultural, non-profit, eco-friendly, and impact-focused organization that collaborates with organizations adhering to the ESG Criteria in India.
