Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized an Intellectual Meet at Tagore Hall in Srinagar, where prominent individuals from various backgrounds participated. The event saw the presence of J&K BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul and Minister of State & Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi. They engaged in discussions with the intellectual community to highlight the achievements of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The gathering witnessed fruitful debates and the sharing of diverse perspectives.
During the event, Ashok Koul emphasized the significance of intellectuals as the soft power of the nation. He acknowledged their guidance and opinions in shaping the government's plans and programs. Koul expressed satisfaction in hearing positive feedback from the intellectuals regarding the Modi government's public welfare initiatives.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi emphasized that the current government was the first to address systemic issues. She mentioned the removal of unnecessary laws to enhance the comfort of the people, emphasizing the government's commitment to inclusive and equitable growth for all Indians. Andrabi highlighted that the Modi government ensured grassroots democracy in J&K for the first time, while also expressing the party's expectation of early Assembly elections in the region. She criticized opponents who accused the BJP of shying away from democracy, pointing out that they had denied three-tier local body elections to the people of J&K for seven decades.
The event also saw the participation of several other party leaders, contributing to a productive and informative gathering.
