Rains lash J&K, more showers predicted: MeT | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 26: Rains lashed Jammu and Kashmir bringing respite from the heat wave conditions even as the weatherman predicts precipitation during the next few days. IMD has declared the arrival of Monsoon in Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Ladakh and conditions are favourable for further strengthening of Monsoon during next few days, MeT office said. J&K is very likely to receive moderate to heavy showers (in spells) mainly during June 26-27h and light to moderate rain during June 28-29h. It will also provide respite from the heat wave till the next prolonged dry spell. The MeT office said today the weather generally remains cloudy with intermittent light to moderate Rain while moderate to heavy showers at some places In plains of Jammu region in morning hours during the next 24 hours. It has also released an advisory that rain may lead to localised flash flood & mudslide in vulnerable spots, especially in Jammu region and water level in rivers, streams and nallas are also expected to rise.
