The aim was to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse among the students. On June 21, 2023, a poster-making competition took place at the college, drawing participation from numerous students. The competition focused on the theme "Say No to Drugs," with students creating posters that depicted the dangers and consequences of drug abuse. On June 24, 2023, a rally was organized at GCW Bhagwati Nagar to raise awareness about the adverse effects of drug abuse. Students enthusiastically participated in the rally, chanting slogans and displaying play-cards conveying messages related to the theme. The aim was to engage the community and spread awareness about the consequences of drug addiction. A symposium held on June 28, 2023, brought together around 20 college students who actively participated by giving presentations and sharing their perspectives on the topic "Drug Abuse and its Physical and Psychological Impact on the Individual." The symposium provided a platform for open discussions on the subject and highlighted the profound effects of drug abuse on both the body and mind. During the event, Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol highlighted that drug abuse is a brain disease that alters its functioning. The brain becomes highly dependent on drugs and cannot operate normally without them. She further explained that drug abuse can lead to various health problems, such as liver failure or even permanent brain damage. Therefore, it is essential to steer clear of such activities and make informed choices. Prof. Parwinder Kaur, the convener of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, coordinated all the activities with the patronage of Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol. Their combined efforts ensured the successful execution of the awareness campaign and its impact on the college community. |
