Jammu, July 6: In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu Police has successfully solved a theft case and recovered stolen items worth more than Rs 1.2 lakhs. The information regarding the theft was received at PS Gandhi Nagar, and subsequently, FIR No. 164/2023 U/s 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Gandhi Nagar, initiating the investigation. Under the leadership of SDPO South Sachit Sharma, and with the assistance of SHO PS Gandhi Inspr Pankaj Sharma, the dedicated police teams of PS Gandhi Nagar left no stone unturned in their efforts to crack the case. Utilizing the CCTV footage of the area, they were able to identify and apprehend the suspected person, Sharan Sharma, also known as Sunny. Upon interrogation, the accused admitted to his involvement in the theft. As a result, several stolen items, including a golden nose Nath, golden tops, golden jhumke, golden rings, and a wristwatch, with a total worth exceeding Rs 1.2 lakhs, were recovered from his possession. The entire operation, including the arrest and recovery, was carried out under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid. The investigation into the case is currently ongoing, as the police continue their efforts to gather more evidence and ascertain further details. |
