Early Times Report
Jammu, July 6: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has directed the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) to declare the result of the petitioner in the J&K Combined Competitive (Main) Examination-2021. The petitioner, Shalini Chandel, filed a petition seeking the quashing of an impugned notice dated February 3, 2022, which rejected her candidature for participating in the examination. The petitioner argued that the rejection was illegal, arbitrary, unjustified, and an abuse of the process of law. Additionally, the petitioner sought to quash another notice dated February 28, 2022, in which her appeal against the earlier notice was rejected, declaring her ineligible based on the grounds that she did not possess the domicile certificate before the cut-off date. The petitioner argued that this ground was also illegal and requested to be allowed to participate in the J&K Combined Competitive (Main) Examination-2021 as advertised. After hearing the arguments presented by Advocates Rajneesh Singh Parihar and Akash Gupta on behalf of the petitioner, the CAT ordered the quashing and setting aside of the impugned orders dated February 3, 2022, and February 28, 2022, related to the petitioner’s candidature. The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, Jammu, has been directed to declare the result of the petitioner. If the petitioner is found to be meritorious and eligible for inclusion in the merit list for appointment, she will be included accordingly. The Original Application has been allowed in accordance with the given directions. |
