Jammu, July 6: In a successful breakthrough, the Jammu Police has solved a theft case and recovered stolen cigarettes worth Rs 50,000. The complaint was lodged at PP Rehari by Jagdish Kumar, who reported the theft of cigarettes from his shop. Following the registration of FIR No. 77/2023 U/S 380/457 IPC at PP Rehari, a special police team led by SDPO North Sunil Kumar Kesar, along with SHO PS Pacca Danga Inspr Sushil Kumar and I/C PP Rehari PSI Anil Kumar, diligently analyzed CCTV footage of the area. Their efforts led to the identification and apprehension of the suspect, Jaswant Kataria, also known as Jannu. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the theft, and the stolen cigarettes were recovered from his possession. The investigation into the case is ongoing. |
