Early Times Report SRINAGAR, July 11: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) organized a Punjabi Short Story Writers' Meet at Tagore Hall's Conference Hall, guided by Bharat Singh JKAS, Secretary of JKAACL. The esteemed event featured S. Jagmohan Singh Raina, a renowned Punjabi writer from Kashmir, as the chief guest, while S. Ajeet Singh Mastana, a notable Punjabi Ghazal writer and local writer from Kashmir, presided over the program. S. Popinder Singh Paras, Editor of Sheeraza Punjabi, also graced the occasion. During the event, Bharat Singh Manhas JKAS, Secretary of JKAACL, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and the participating writers. He acknowledged and appreciated the significant role played by Punjabi writers from the Kashmir Valley in preserving and promoting the Punjabi language and literature in the region. He also assured the Academy's commitment to providing necessary support and facilities for the promotion of Punjabi language and culture in far-flung areas of the valley and the entire region. The program featured six short stories on various themes, including contemporary issues, patriotism, human relations, nature, and the environment. The Punjabi short story writers who presented their works during the event included Dr. Joginder Singh Shan, Karan Singh Talib, R S Rajan, Rattan Singh Kamwal, Mangat Singh Jugnu, and Harpal Singh Pali. In his presidential address, S. Ajeet Singh Mastana commended the efforts of the Cultural Academy in promoting regional languages, including Punjabi. He emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the art, culture, and languages of diverse societies within the region. S. Jagmohan Singh Raina also shared his views on the occasion.
