Early Times Report JAMMU, July 11: A new civil society group named "Peoples Welfare Civil Society" has been established with the aim of raising concerns regarding various pressing issues faced by the common man across all sectors of society. Following extensive discussions with non-political individuals and strugglers, a meeting was held recently, resulting in the formation of the society. The society currently consists of 21 executive members, including Suresh Sharma, Subash Verma, and Pardip Sharma, who have been nominated to draft the bylaws. During their inaugural press conference, Suresh Sharma, Subhash Verma, and Pardip Sharma strongly criticized the administration led by the Lieutenant Governor (LG). They highlighted issues such as the non-regularization of daily wagers, irregular power cuts, property tax, water tax, the halt in old age and widow pensions, non-release of scholarships for deserving students, pending SRO-43 cases, and the revival of old SRO-43. They particularly condemned the suppression of the working class through unjustified and illogical circulars and amendments in the health department's cadre by JKSSB. The leaders raised concerns about recent recruitment orders issued by JKSSB, which resulted in a significant disparity between qualified youth in Jammu and the divisional cadre employees of the health department. They demanded a review of the amendment and the recruitment of Jammu youth specifically for Jammu vacancies to ensure regional parity. During their interaction with the media, the leaders called for immediate attention from the LG administration to address the grievances of the people. Other committee members present at the press conference included Satish Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, K.C. Dubey, Manjoor Ahamad, Ram Lubhya, S. Surjit Singh, Vijay Kumar, Jarnail Singh, K.K. Koushal, B.N. Singh, Tilak Raj Sharma, Mohd Shafi, and Ranjit Singh. |
