J&K politicians shifting loyalties with hope to gain role in future
World exists on hope!

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 20: After August 5, 2019—when the Centre announced its decision to abrogate J&K’s special status and divide it into two Union Territories—politicians have been shifting their loyalties with a hope of gaining a role in the future.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Politicians are making desperate attempts adapt to the new political landscape in the region. The abrogation of Article 370 has not only altered the region's political dynamics but also put the traditional politicians in a quandary. In the past, politicians enjoyed a significant amount of power and influence. However, after 2019 the politicians are searching for new ways to remain relevant in the changed political scenario.”
He said, “In this rapidly evolving scenario, politicians are changing their affiliations and alliances with the hope of securing a role in the future government. The recent influx of new parties and coalitions emerging in the region is a testament to this shift in political loyalties. Individuals who were once staunch supporters of specific ideologies or parties are now joining forces with rival factions in an attempt to secure their positions.”
“Notable political figures, including former ministers, have been at the forefront of changing loyalties. Some people believe that these politicians are pragmatic enough to recognize that aligning themselves with the current central government and its policies could potentially open new avenues for political power. They are willing to seize this opportunity as they believe it will enable them to remain relevant in the evolving political scenario,” the analyst added.
Critics argue that the politicians changing their loyalties are doing so out of personal interest, rather than any genuine concern for the welfare of the people they represent. The perception that these politicians are “merely opportunistic actors” driven purely by self-interest has not gone unnoticed by the public. “The abrogation of Article 370 has also left some politicians with limited options as they face potential legal troubles. Several political leaders who were previously vocal proponents of maintaining the special status for Jammu and Kashmir now find themselves in a precarious position. They are left with no choice but to adapt to the new political realities, even if it means changing their loyalties,” said an observer.
