Early Times Report SAMBA, July 23: In a significant breakthrough, Samba Police apprehended a fourth top heroin smuggler connected to the Rangoor smuggling/firing case in Ramgarh. The suspect, identified as Neeraj Jaswal alias Romi, hailing from Khandwala Vikasnagar Amritsar, Punjab, had been serving as a guide during the midnight firing incident and had managed to escape on an Apache bike under the cover of darkness. Following the incident, Samba Police had acted swiftly and already apprehended three major heroin smugglers with a substantial quantity of contraband worth approximately Rs. 14 Crore, along with Rs. 93,200 in cash and a pistol with ammunition. The trio was arrested at a police naka in Radian, Ramgarh, while attempting to flee on a local resident's bike, abandoning their Innova car at the crime scene. Neeraj Jaswal, the fourth suspect, evaded capture initially and managed to reach Punjab. However, with effective coordination and alertness, Punjab Police intercepted him at a naka while he was trying to escape from Samba. He has now been handed over to the Samba Police, who are leading the investigation into the Rangoor smuggling/firing case. Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, informed that a specialized team, comprising three gazetted police officers - Addl.SP Surinder Choudhary, DySP Ops Samba Garu Ram, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, and two Inspectors, SHO Ramgarh Sudesh Kumar and Inspr Sham Lal, have been assigned to the case. This special investigation team (SIT) is conducting a rigorous inquiry, and more arrests are anticipated as the case progresses towards its final stages. The Rangoor smuggling/firing case has raised concerns, and the police are committed to unraveling all aspects of the crime, bringing the perpetrators to justice. The recent arrest of Neeraj Jaswal signifies a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation, bringing the authorities closer to completing the case's challan. |
