KUPWARA, July 24: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today launched “GULABPOSH Project” in collaboration with Piramal Foundation to transform Anganwadis as part of the Aspirational District Programme. On the occasion, the DC directed the officers to conduct meetings down the line with subordinates for awareness and effective implementation of the GulabPosh Project. During the meeting, the DC was informed that 2316 Anganwadi Centres are functioning in the district with enrollment of 32536 male and 31871 female children under the age of 6 years. Regarding the Project, it was informed that the Gulabposh Project consists of 4 thematic areas including Basic Infrastructure, Service Delivery, Community Outreach and Enhancement of Anganwari Workers’ capabilities. It was also informed that the aim of the project is to effectively promote and improve social interaction among children, upgradation of Anganwadi Infrastructure, Enhancement of Staff Capacity, focus on making Children Healthier and Well-Nourished, Strengthening Community Engagement, Effective Monitoring and Evaluation, besides, ensuring screening of all the beneficiaries.
