Early Times Report JAMMU, July 27: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), in association with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Social Welfare Department of Jammu & Kashmir Government, and Sangam Tru Art Production, presented a spectacular Nukkad-style musical play titled "Nasha Nai Karna" at Juggi Jompadi, Paloura, Janipur, Jammu. The event aimed to promote the Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan and revitalize the traditional folk art and culture of the Jammu & Kashmir region. Under the direction of Dr. M. L. Dogra, the play featured a lively portrayal of themes such as "Jan Gan Man," "Swatch Bharat Ho," "Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio," "Nai Pee Shraban," "Tu Mala Tu Lok Panne Thikrian," "Are Jammua Pare Bawa," "Aj Gali Gali Aur Gaoun goun Mai sabne Azam Uthaya Hai," and "Laga Graan Sarde Setu Da Mela." The performance included engaging skits, songs, and dances to raise awareness among the masses. The chief guest for the event was Uttam Kumar, the Mohalla President of Paloura, Janipur, Jammu. Several esteemed guests of honor, including Devinder Kumar, Neelam Sharma, Kala Ram, Neeraj Singh Thakur, and Anil Kumar, graced the occasion. The program aimed to shed light on the dangers of drug use and the illegal drug trade while spreading awareness about the cultural and economic harm caused by drug abuse globally. Dr. M. L. Dogra, Chairman of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, delivered a welcome speech emphasizing the rise in suicides and mental health issues linked to substance abuse. He applauded the efforts of Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyaan, the flagship campaign by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, in combating the harmful repercussions of drug abuse with the support of local administration, master volunteers, online competitions, and various events. He stressed the importance of addressing mental health disorders to build a healthy society contributing to national growth and development. The musical play featured theme-based songs written by Dr. M. L. Dogra and composed by Raju Bajgal, the Music Instructor at BLSKS. The program was recorded and uploaded online on social media platforms for the benefit of a wider audience. The event aimed to raise awareness on the significance of leading a drug-free life and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan serves as an effective initiative to fight against substance abuse and create awareness about maintaining a drug-free society. Dr. M. L. Dogra expressed hope that the efforts taken up by BLSKS and the initiative would contribute towards making Bharat a drug-free nation.
