Ramban police Nabs two smugglers with charas in operation sanjeevani”

Ramban, July 28, 2023: Ramban Police achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against narcotics smuggling with the arrest of two individuals carrying a substantial quantity of charas-like substance. The operation took place at T Chowk Naka, where a routine naka checking duty conducted by the team of Police Station Banihal led to the successful apprehension. The police stopped a van with registration number JK02BR-0857, which was traveling from Kashmir towards Banihal, for a thorough inspection. During the checking, the police discovered around 400 grams of charas-like substance in the said vehicle. The driver was identified as Surinder Singh, son of Hans Raj, and a resident of Chakr Bhati, P/O Sindra Tehsil Bhalla, District Doda. The co-driver was identified as Amit Kumar, son of Darshan Lal, and a resident of Choundry, Tehsil Bhalla, District Doda. In response to this discovery, a case under FIR No. 187/2023 u/s 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal, and the investigation is in progress. Both accused have been arrested on the spot, following the completion of all legal formalities. The successful operation is part of the Ramban Police’s relentless efforts under Operation Sanjeevani to combat the menace of drug trafficking and ensure a safer and drug-free society. The swift action taken by the police team has once again demonstrated their dedication to upholding the law and protecting the community from the harmful effects of narcotics.
