| 20 Kgs of Poppy straw seized, one peddler arrested in PS Bakshi Nagar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 28: In a significant blow to drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved a major success by recovering 20 Kgs of poppy straw from an accused in the area under the jurisdiction of PS Bakshi Nagar Jammu.
A police team of PS Bakshi Nagar, led by SDPO West Vikram Singh and assisted by SHO PS Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Rakesh Sharma, conducted a patrolling duty near Resham Ghar when they rounded up a suspicious individual, later identified as Davinder Kumar, son of Sain Dass and a resident of F-520 Resham Ghar, Jammu. A thorough search of his possession led to the seizure of 20 Kgs of poppy straw.
In connection with the case, FIR No. 110/2023 under sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act was registered at PS Bakshi Nagar, and the accused was promptly arrested.
The investigation is ongoing, and Jammu Police is working diligently to dismantle the drug supply chains in the region. The accused is being thoroughly questioned to trace the origin of the drug supply. Jammu Police is steadfast in its commitment to combat the drug menace and create awareness among the people, especially the youth.
