Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: To celebrate the National Bone & Joint Day, observed on August 4th every year, the Indian Orthopaedic Association, in collaboration with the J&K Orthopaedic Association, has planned various activities for the benefit of the general public. The Bone & Joint Week Celebrations commenced with an inauguration event held at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital (ASCOMS), Sidhra, Jammu. The inauguration began with a Yoga & Meditation session conducted by Prof. T.R. Raina, Former Prof & Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, GMC, Jammu. Faculty members, MBBS/ Postgraduate students, and other staff members were given a live demonstration of yoga and meditation's importance in coping with the challenges of today's stressful life. The function was inaugurated by D.K. Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS, along with the presence of Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS, Prof. T.R. Raina, Dr. Rajesh K Gupta, Prof & HOD, Orthopaedics, ASCOMS, Dr. Bella Mahajan, Prof & HOD, Microbiology, ASCOMS, Brig. (Dr.) R.K. Khajuria, Professor, Community Medicine, ASCOMS, and Mrs. Davinder Kaur, Vice Principal, ASCCON Education. Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, appreciated the initiative taken by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Prof & Head of the Orthopaedics Department at ASCOMS and the Past President of the J&K Orthopaedic Association, in associating ASCOMS with this national event. During the Vote of Thanks, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta expressed his gratitude to all the faculty members, students, and staff for their active participation in the event. He also thanked the staff members of the Orthopaedics Department for their dedicated efforts in organizing the event. The management of ASCOMS was also acknowledged for providing all necessary support to organize the event under the banner of the Indian Orthopaedic Association. The Bone & Joint Week Celebrations aim to raise awareness about bone and joint health, promote physical well-being through activities like yoga, and emphasize the importance of meditation for mental wellness.
