Waheed Parra’s statement widens cracks among I.N.D.I.A constituents in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: Differences among different constituents of the newly floated Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) are widening with every passing day before it takes final shape in J&K. After National Conference Lok Sabha member Justice (retired) Hasnain Masoodi’s statement and attempt of the Congress to lure workers of coalition partner, the statement given by Wahid Parra, youth wing president of the Peoples’ Democratic Party has further deepened crises in the I.N.D.I.A. On the 24th foundation day of the party, Wahid Parra minced no words in attacking Congress and National Conference for shamelessly rigging the infamous 1987 assembly elections. While targeting National Conference and Congress he said that his party did not engage in election rigging and created organizations like Special Operations Group (SOG) or Ikhwan, nor it resorted to executions to hold onto power. He lambasted the NC and Congress and said that those responsible for past electoral manipulations and violence were now seeking elections and alliances in New Delhi. Earlier Justice (retired) Hasnain Masoodi hinted that NC will contest elections on its own in Jammu and Kashmir. “I am hopeful that our leadership will take a decision on contesting the coming Lok Sabha elections alone in Jammu and Kashmir”, Hasnain Masoodi told media persons at Anantnag last week while responding to a query regarding the party’s candidate on this prestigious seat. Masoodi is hopeful that NC leadership will decide on Anantnag Lok Sabha while considering the ground situation and views of the party cadre. Last week Congress lured some NC and PDP leaders to join the party. |
