Govt Post Graduate College, Rajouri conducts Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: In a bid to address the pressing issue of drug abuse among the youth, NCC Units(SD/SW) of Govt Post Graduate College, Rajouri, organized a highly impactful event under the banner of Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan. The event, held with the patronage of the college's esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad, aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug addiction on society and to motivate the NCC cadets to actively work towards eradicating this social evil. The event commenced with Prof. Salma Farooq, NCC Officer (SW), delivering a comprehensive introduction about the perils of drug addiction and the crucial role NCC cadets play in combating this issue for the betterment of the nation. The discussion also revolved around effective strategies to counter the temptation of getting addicted to drugs, encouraging a healthier and more prosperous society. Further, Major Tanwir Ahmed, NCC Officer (SD), shed light on the vital responsibility of educational institutions in educating the youth about the disastrous consequences of drug consumption. He guided the NCC cadets on their role in social service and how to instill constructive lifestyles that discourage drug use. The NCC cadets of the college took part in a massive rally, fervently chanting slogans like "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life," "Make Rajouri Drugs Free," and "Addiction is a Disease, Not a Choice." The powerful demonstration aimed to capture the attention of the community and spread the message of a drug-free Rajouri. At the culmination of the event, the NCC cadets solemnly pledged to contribute their efforts towards building a drug-free society. This collective commitment reflects the determination of the youth to combat the menace of drug abuse in their community. Prof. Javaid Mughal, Vice-Principal of the college, emphasized the urgency of organizing such events, given the alarming pace at which drug abuse is spreading. Prof. (Dr.) Shamim A Azad, the Principal of Govt P G College, Rajouri, congratulated the officers of both NCC Units and lauded the enthusiasm of the cadets in their endeavor to make Rajouri a "drug-free" zone.
