Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 5: District Legal Services Authority Samba, under able guidance of J&K Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) and the Chairmanship of Yesh Pal Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba (also Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge Samba), today organized a one-day Introductory Training Session on "Mental Health and Meditation" at District Court Complex Samba. The event was held as a part of the Special Campaign launched by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India on October 26, 2022, in collaboration with 'The Art of Living Foundation,' commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence under the banner 'Har Ghar Dhyan.' The training session was inaugurated by Yesh Pal Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba. Among the participants were Adnan Sayeed, Addl. District Sessions Judge, Samba, Preem Simran K. Grover, Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samba, Urvashi Raina, Addl. Munsiff Samba, Ananta Raina, Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate, Samba, Himani Parihar, Munsiff Samba, Officers from Prosecutor Wing Samba, Officers of Legal Aid Defense Counsel System Samba, Staff of District Court Complex Samba, and District Legal Services Authority and PLVs of DLSA Samba. The program featured Ravinder Mansotra and Shakti Sagar, Art of Living teachers, as resource persons. During the session, Ravinder Mansotra discussed how the Jan-Bhagidari model empowers the youth towards better health and creates a more resilient future for the country, focusing on mental and emotional health. He explained the benefits of meditation, pranayama, and stress-relieving kriyas in boosting immunity and overall well-being, alleviating stress, anxiety, and depression. Shakti Sagar highlighted the ability of meditation to manage the mind, increase stamina, and improve work productivity for individuals in demanding job roles. He conducted Pranayamas like Nadishodana and Bhastrika, along with short yet powerful meditation sessions for all the participants. Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Samba, delivered the welcome address, providing an overview of the program's objectives. The training aimed to orient participants towards their mental and emotional health, introduce them to a simple and easy-to-adopt meditation practice, and connect them to a wealth of content for continuous self-improvement. The proceedings of the training were conducted by Versha Anthal, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel Samba, while the Vote of thanks was presented by Hitesh Sharma, Panel Advocate, District Legal Services Authority Samba. The event was a step towards promoting well-being and mental health among the participants, aligning with the national initiative 'Har Ghar Dhyan.' |
