Bickering in PAGD: Now, NC leader charges Mehbooba with befooling people on Art 370 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 5: War of words among leaders of the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified as workers of both parties seize every opportunity to demonize each other. Days after the youth wing president of PDP Wahid Parra attacked the National Conference for rigging the infamous 1987 assembly elections, former MLA and senior National Conference leader advocate Abdul Majeed Larmi charged Mehbooba Mufti with befooling people in the name of Article 370. Former MLA from the Homeshalibugh, who is also district president of the party’s Kulgam unit, pointed out that the National Conference leadership including former Chief Minister is camping at New Delhi during the ongoing hearing in the Supreme Court. “Except for giving statements from Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti has done nothing concrete in the ongoing legal battle to restore Article 370”, Larmi alleged and added that the PDP president is only giving statements to befool the people but in a real sense she has least bothered about the restoration of the special status of J&K. He said that it is known to everybody that only the National Conference is fighting for the restoration of Article 370 and other groups are just issuing statements to play to the gallaries. Important to mention here that on the 24th foundation day of the party on July 31, Wahid Parra minced no words in attacking Congress and National Conference for shamelessly rigging the infamous 1987 assembly elections. While targeting National Conference and Congress he said that his party did not engage in election rigging and created organizations like Special Operations Group (SOG) or Ikhwan, nor it resorted to executions to hold onto power. He lambasted the NC and Congress and said that those responsible for past electoral manipulations and violence were now seeking elections and alliances in New Delhi. |
