JKTJAC monthly meeting addresses genuine issues of teaching fraternity | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Aug 6: The Jammu Kashmir Teachers' Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) convened its monthly meeting under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar on August 6, 2023. The meeting saw the participation of JKTJAC representatives from all eleven zones of the district. During the meeting, Vinod Sharma raised several pressing issues faced by the teaching fraternity and urged the Hon'ble LG and Principal Secretary School Education to take prompt action to address these concerns. Comprehensive Transfer Policy: Sharma stressed the need for a comprehensive transfer policy for teachers appointed under the ReT (Rehbar-e-Taleem) scheme. He pointed out that these teachers have been working in the same schools for over 20 years, despite clear directives from the Hon'ble High Court and CAT. The absence of a transfer policy has severely affected thousands of these teachers, including female educators. Regularisation of ReTs: The committee demanded the regularisation of ReTs who have completed the 5-year ReT period. These teachers have been waiting for their regularisation for an extended period and are facing considerable hardship. Rationalisation of Teachers: Sharma emphasized that rationalisation of teachers should be carried out transparently. He advocated for maintaining a minimum of two teachers in every primary school to ensure a strong foundation for students at the primary level. Conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III: The committee requested the conversion of RRETs (Rehbar-e-Rural Education Teachers) to Teachers Grade II/III to ensure timely salary releases. |
