The accused, Jugraj Singh alias Yoddha, hailing from Amritsar, Punjab, was arrested and had been in judicial custody in connection with a massive recovery case involving Indian currency and heroin. Yoddha, operating from Punjab, was a major supplier of heroin, acting like a wholesaler to local heroin suppliers in Samba and adjoining districts. The thorough investigation by the police culminated in producing a strong challan in the court of law for judicial determination. SSP Benam Tosh emphasized that the police will not spare big fish involved in heroin supplying. They are determined to dismantle all illicit heroin trafficking modules and bring to justice all top 'chitta' (heroin) suppliers, even those operating outside the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This action demonstrates the police's commitment to tackling drug trafficking and curbing the illegal drug trade in the region. |
