Udhampur, Aug 8: In a successful operation, Udhampur Police intercepted a truck during routine naka checking at Roundomail, led by Insp. Raghubir Singh, SHO PS Udhampur, and supported by PSI Rahul Jamwal, IC PP Roundomail. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Sh. Anwaar Ul Haq, Addl. SP Udhampur, and S. Gurmeet Singh, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, with the overall guidance of SSP Udhampur, Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS. The police team signalled a truck with registration number JK 03E3951 to halt for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered 17 bovine animals loaded without valid permission. Prompt action was taken to rescue all 17 bovine animals from the vehicle, and the alleged bovine smuggler, identified as Nisar Ahmed, son of Ghulam Qadir, resident of Rakh Bra, Anantnag, was apprehended on the spot. A case has been registered at PS Udhampur under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is currently underway.
