Notorious heroin supplier “DC” remanded to 15 days Judicial Custody

Samba, Aug 8: In a significant development, the notorious heroin supplier known by the code name “DC,” identified as Farman Ali of Rakh Barotian Vijaypur, has been apprehended by Samba Police while selling heroin to addicted youth. He has now been remanded to fifteen days of judicial custody and is lodged in District Jail Kathua.
The apprehended individual, Farman Ali, also known as “DC,” was known for his involvement in supplying heroin and had a history of constantly altering his identity, hideouts, and modus operandi. He primarily operated within Samba district, particularly in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, Vijaypur, and Ramgarh. He often supplied heroin to smaller suppliers and individual addicts in open fields to avoid police detection during raids. However, a vigilant police patrol managed to catch him red-handed, leading to his arrest and the seizure of a quantity of heroin from his possession.
A case (FIR No. 183/2023) under sections 8/21/22/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act was registered against the smuggler “DC” at Police Station Samba through Police Post Supwal. Subsequent investigation revealed his involvement in various criminal activities, including an attack on the police (FIR No. 38/2023 U/S 307, 382, 353, 332, 336, 147, 148 IPC P/S Vijaypur).
Following his police remand in the NDPSA case (FIR No. 183/2023) of Police Post Supwal Samba, “DC” was remanded to Judicial custody by the Hon’ble Court of Additional Sessions Judge Samba, and he is now lodged in Jail.
The arrest was executed by a police team led by DySP Garu Ram, ASI Ganesh Dass, and HC Mohd Saif, under the supervision of Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, emphasized that the police are committed to apprehending notorious heroin suppliers within the bounds of the law. He further assured that all cases related to heroin smuggling and distribution are being promptly investigated, ensuring a timely conclusion based on merit. This successful apprehension demonstrates the dedication of the police force in curbing drug-related offenses and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
