Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 24: In a celebration of both literary excellence and cultural heritage, a day-long "Pahari Literary and Cultural Program" was hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages in collaboration with the NSS Unit (IMDAD) and Literary Activities Committee of GDC Darhal. The event took place on Thursday, August 24th, commemorating the 77th year of India's Independence and coinciding with the "Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav" government initiative. The chief guest of the event was Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal of GDC Darhal. The inaugural session commenced with Abdul Wahid Manhas, Research Assistant Cultural Academy Srinagar, welcoming the attendees and shedding light on the objectives of the event. Dr. Alamdar Hussain Shah, Cultural Officer Rajouri & Poonch, managed the proceedings of the event as the stage secretary. Distinguished poets, writers, and singers graced the occasion. Dr. Farooq Anwar Mirza, Chief Editor Pahari and Officer Incharge Kashmir Division, extended a warm welcome to the guest artists. The renowned poet Janab Mohd. Rashid Qamar presided over the event. The program was divided into three sessions, each highlighting a different facet of Pahari culture. The first session featured a mesmerizing mushaira, showcasing the eloquence of renowned poets. Participants included Jnab Parvez Malik, Janab Shafiq Arsh, Dr. Arif Malik, Janab Zakir Khakhi, Saleema Akhter, Janab Zakir Fiazi, Janab Arif Iqbal Mirza, Janab Mohd Iqbql Mirza, Janab Mohd Aksar Ganai, Janab Arif Jaral Arif, Sameena Sehar Mirza, Fazal Ahmed Sheikh, Mirza Shakeel Shakir, Saleem Shah Bukhari, and Mumtaz Ahmed. The second session was dedicated to short stories, with writers like Janab Iqbal Nazish, Janab Iqbal Shal, Madam Zanfar Khokhar, Janab Mohd Aslam Mirza, and Madam Farzana Shaheen Haidery presenting their narratives. The grand finale of the program featured a captivating musical concert by Sahil Mehra and his team, leaving the audience spellbound. The literary offerings presented during the event showcased a remarkable blend of Pahari culture and literary prowess. The event attracted numerous literature enthusiasts and eminent writers proficient in Urdu, Persian, Gojri, and Pahari languages. Prof. M.H. Shah, Principal of the College, expressed his gratitude to JKAACL for organizing such a significant event. He emphasized the importance of providing a common platform for regional poets, fostering a sense of unity and shared cultural heritage. The program underscored the unity in diversity as writers expressed their love for their homeland through their distinct languages, creating an atmosphere of shared human emotions and values.
