Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 24: Taking note of the “situation emerging” in Jammu, New Delhi is set to call a high level meeting on the issue. While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is abroad, sources said Union Home Minister, Amit Shah has been apprised about the developments taking place in the City of Temples and elsewhere and that meeting would be held as per his instructions.
The sources said the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership at the national and the regional level was also being taken into confidence for the conduct of the meeting and to find solutions. Top sources told the Early Times that a decision in this regard was taken at around 4:00 PM in the national capital and that within an hour the same was conveyed to the Jammu and Kashmir administration. The sources said some of the top functionaries of the Jammu and Kashmir administration are likely to attend the meeting where some crucial decisions are expected. The sources said the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has learnt it that some of its senior leaders in Jammu and Kashmir were not happy the way things were being tackled. Sources said some of the leaders have hinted at “averse steps” if the genuine demands of the people are not met. Sources said there was a possibility of administrative reshuffle as some of the leaders have been repeatedly complaining against few quarters “not being cooperative.”
The source said some of the senior leaders of the BJP from Jammu were also expected to fly to the national capital to decide the future course of action. Sources said the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s government at the center wants to make Jammu prosper even further and that this point in particular would be discussed at the meeting. Despite repeated attempts the concerned couldn’t be contacted for comments.
