Early Times Report SUNDERBANI, Aug 24: The Sports and Physical Education Department of GDC Sunderbani, in collaboration with the NSS wing of the college, orchestrated a dynamic sports extravaganza featuring two exciting events: the Lemon Race and a 400-meter Walk/Race. These events were organized under the banner of the "Fit India Mission," which pays homage to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The initiative aims to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and a culture of fitness among students. Separated by gender, the Lemon Race and Walk/Race attracted a significant number of enthusiastic students. In the Girls' Lemon Race, Ishu Sharma, a 3rd-semester student, emerged as the winner, showcasing her speed and agility. On the boys' side, Sourb Singh Chib, a 5th-semester student, clinched the top spot, demonstrating his prowess on the track. In the Boys' 400-meter Race, Aditya Sharma triumphed with impressive speed, while in the Girls' category, Surita claimed the first position, leaving a mark of her athleticism. The events were impeccably organized by Mr. Rafiq Ahmad Rather, the Librarian and Sports Coordinator, who received invaluable assistance from members of the sports and NSS Committees. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Mohd Azam, Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Prof. Rabinder Kumar, Prof. Sham Lal, Prof. Mukesh Kumar, and Prof. Beant Singh, who all lent their support to encourage the participating students. |
