J&K Waqf Board collaborates with HDFC Bank for Digital Transformation of Rent, Donations | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 24: In a significant step towards modernizing its revenue collection system, the J&K Waqf Board has joined hands with HDFC Bank to facilitate online rent and donation collection. An official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two entities, marking a pivotal moment in the board's efforts to enhance efficiency and transparency. The MoU was formalized at a ceremony held at Sonwar Srinagar, attended by Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi and Mr. Arun Mediratta, Senior Executive Vice President of HDFC Bank. The initiative aims to shift the entire process of rent and donation collection to an online platform, ensuring timely and seamless transactions while reducing reliance on traditional methods that involve field staff. Under this partnership, HDFC Bank will establish e-rental and e-donation facilities for the J&K Waqf Board. The online system will make it easier for users of Waqf properties to pay their rents and make donations through secure payment gateways integrated into the board's official website. During the event, Dr. Andrabi emphasized the achievements of the past year in terms of rent collection and property dispute resolution. She also underlined the commitment of the J&K Waqf Board to mobilize donations from various sources, both within India and abroad. These donations will be channeled towards initiatives in the Health and Education sectors, further enhancing the welfare and development objectives of the board.
