Kavinder Gupta applauds J&K administration's clarity on 5 marla land distribution | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 25: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, praised the Jammu and Kashmir administration for clarifying the issue of distributing 5 marlas of land to landless beneficiaries by specifically stating that only domiciles will receive this privilege. In a statement addressed to the media, the former Deputy Chief Minister criticized certain political entities for unnecessarily creating controversy around an issue that did not exist in reality. He noted that LG Manoj Sinha had already emphasized that no land would be provided to outsiders, but some individuals with vested interests were attempting to deceive citizens by fabricating baseless stories. Kavinder Gupta asserted that the recent order issued by the J&K Government has conclusively resolved all controversies and demonstrated that LG Sinha's administration prioritizes the welfare of the people and would not take any action detrimental to the UT's residents. He highlighted that the LG administration's guidelines, presented in clear terms, have thwarted the malicious intentions of certain vested interest groups. Kavinder Gupta acknowledged that formulating a concrete policy takes time and opposition parties sought to exploit this brief window to mislead the public through misinformation campaigns. Gupta emphasized that the order, which grants land to landless individuals at a nominal lease cost of Rs 100 per marla, is a generous commitment by the J&K Government to the poor and deserving. He urged the people of J&K not to fall for the traps set by the opposition, as the BJP is uniquely positioned to address people's issues, particularly those of the less fortunate. He stated that unlike other parties, the BJP prioritizes the nation's progress and the welfare of the impoverished. |
