Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 31: Demonstrating a high level of professionalism and dedication, the Samba Police has effectively solved the enigmatic death case of Rani Devi. The inquest proceedings initiated to ascertain the true cause of her demise have now transitioned into an FIR (First Information Report) under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the husband has been apprehended as the accused. Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh, emphasized that the Samba Police's efforts have transformed the preliminary inquiry into a concrete case, leading to the arrest of the husband who is suspected to have played a role in the unfortunate incident. The incident came to light on August 13, 2023, when the Police Station Ghagwal received information about the suspicious death of 42-year-old Rani Devi from Harsath, Ghagwal district, Samba. Subsequently, inquest proceedings were initiated, including a post-mortem examination and the completion of necessary legal formalities. Upon thorough investigation and evidence collection, it was deduced that Rani Devi had consumed a poisonous substance, with indications suggesting abetment to suicide by her husband. This led to the transformation of the inquest proceedings into an FIR, culminating in the arrest of the husband, identified as Surinder Singh, son of Kartar Singh, resident of Harsath tehsil, Ghagwal district, Samba. The successful resolution of the case was made possible through the efforts of SI Narayan Singh, under the supervision of SHO Police Station Ghagwal, Bharat Bhushan, DySP Garu Ram, and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. SSP Samba Benam Tosh has directed the swift and thorough investigation of mysterious death cases within the Samba district, ensuring that such cases are handled with utmost seriousness, and those involved in criminal activities are promptly arrested in accordance with the law. |
