50-50: After satisfaction, Kashmir neta feels disappointed | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 31: A few days after expressing hope on holding of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, a senior politician from Kashmir feels “disappointed.” In the last few weeks, the senior politician, a separatist turned mainstream leader, who heads a political party in Kashmir, has shown alleged “mood-swings several times.” A few weeks ago, he thanked his lawyer for pleading the case on August 5, 2019 decision before the Supreme Court and subsequently has been hitting right left and center on issues related to Kashmir. “Welcome the thrust on restoration of democracy. Too much of humiliation and belittling of the people of J &K. Let us hope that justice prevails,” politician had said recently. Taking a twist on his hopes the said politician told the media that “I am disappointed.” “The submissions made … are not very dissimilar from the statements that have come from the Centre is the past four years. So, I am disappointed,” said the leader from north Kashmir. The leader, who was once close to the Bharatiya Janta Party, has also been seemingly disappointed by the BJP. The leader and his party have been saying that the BJP could opt for alliance with the another party to form government whenever Assembly elections are held. Sources said the leader is in a dilemma over the behavior of some of his party colleagues. “Those who were part of his party have been going around as independent voices for the last many months and thus its matter of concern for the party leadership,” said an observer. Interestingly, after the abrogation of the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the said politician, who has also remained a minister in the previous government, had joined the Gupkar alliance. He however subsequently left the same Gupkar alliance. Despite repeated attempts the said politician couldn’t be contacted for comments. |
