Four-Day sports workshop marks college's sports week celebration

JAMMU, Aug 31: A dynamic four-day workshop was organized in conjunction with the celebration of the sports week, spanning from August 25 to August 29, 2023. Professor Anirudh Sharma, the Principal of the college, wholeheartedly encouraged students to dedicate their time and energy to sports activities, fostering an environment of enthusiasm and camaraderie among participants.
During the event, a chess competition ignited a battle of intellect and talent between students from Semester III and Semester V. The participants displayed exceptional skills, leading to an engaging and nail-biting contest. Ultimately, the students from Semester V triumphed, showcasing their strategic prowess.
The sports festivities also included a friendly volleyball match, pitting Semester III against Semester V. Both teams demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and skills, with high-quality serves and smashes adding to the excitement. In a closely contested match, Semester III emerged as the victors by a slim margin. The college administration offered its encouraging support to both teams.
On August 29, 2023, a friendly carom board match took center stage, engaging the girl students of the college. The matches were intense and competitive, with students showcasing their proficiency in the game. The matches culminated with the students who demonstrated better skills emerging as the victors.
The winning teams received well-deserved recognition and rewards from the college authorities. Professor Anirudh Sharma congratulated the victorious teams, emphasizing the importance of nurturing talent in sports. He underlined that participating in sports not only contributes to physical well-being but also positively impacts mental health.
Furthermore, Professor Anirudh Sharma assured students of the college's commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure in the future, providing them with better facilities and opportunities. Professor Pradeep Kumar extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to both the staff and students, acknowledging their active participation and contribution to the successful execution of the sports week celebration.
