Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 7: The Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust in Gandhi Nagar orchestrated a grand celebration in honor of "Shree Krishan Janamashtami." The festivities commenced with the ceremonial Sh. Ganesh and Nav Greh Pooja, followed by a vibrant Rath Yatra featuring the beautifully adorned idols of Lord Krishna. The Rath Yatra embarked from Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Gandhi Nagar, accompanied by a multitude of devoted followers, including Sh. Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, as well as various eminent social and political figures from Jammu. Members and special invitees of the Trust, under the leadership of Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and President of the Trust, enthusiastically participated in the procession. The Yatra wove its way through several temples, including Shree Mahadev Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Bawa Dhudha Dhari Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Shri Dugra Mandir Rampura, and Gole Market Gandhi Nagar. Along the route, various organizations extended their hospitality by offering water, cold drinks, and other items as parshad (offering) for the yatris (pilgrims). The procession culminated at the main complex of Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, where a multitude of devotees gathered for the ensuing festivities. From 2 pm to 5 pm, Shree Bhagwat Katha was conducted by Swami Ajay Sharan Shastri ji of Varindavan. Subsequently, a range of programs were organized, with a special highlight being a dress competition in which numerous children, accompanied by their parents, adorned themselves in the attire of Radha and Krishna. These young participants were honored by the management and presented with mementos. One of the main attractions of the event was a beautiful selfie point, drawing a large number of attendees who captured memorable moments with their loved ones. The festivities reached their zenith with the Maha-Arti conducted at 12:00 pm. S.C. Rekhi, General Secretary of the Trust, expressed his gratitude on the occasion. He thanked K.B. Magotra, D.C. (Retd), convenor, and other members of the function committee for their dedicated efforts in organizing such a splendid event. In conclusion, parshad was distributed among the attendees, symbolizing blessings and goodwill. The Rath Yatra and associated celebrations served as a joyful and spiritually enriching way to observe Shree Krishan Janamashtami, bringing together the community in a spirit of devotion and togetherness. |
