Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 7: The highly anticipated Induction Ceremony for the 1st Prof. MBBS students (Batch 2023-24) of ASCOMS (Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences) was held with great enthusiasm in the college auditorium. The event witnessed the presence of the newly admitted students, their parents, the institution's management, dedicated faculty members, and other esteemed staff. D.K. Batra, an esteemed figure, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Pavan Malhotra, the Director Principal of ASCOMS & Hospital, had the privilege of being the Guest of Honour. Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, as well as the Coordinator of the Medical Education Unit, provided an overview of the Induction Ceremony and introduced the students to the new curriculum. The ceremony also saw the participation of Officiating Director Principal Dr. K.S. Mehta, Dr. R. K. Gupta, Professor, and Head of Paediatrics, Dr. Geetika Gupta, Professor, and Head of Physiology, Dr. V.J. Chrungoo, Head of Biochemistry, and Dr. Bella Mahajan, Professor, and Head of Microbiology, among other distinguished attendees. Dr. Pavan Malhotra, in his address to the gathering, delivered inspirational words to the students. The ceremony featured the administration of the "Charak Shapath" in English by Dr. Zeenat Akhter, the Head of the Department of Anatomy, and the oath in Hindi by Dr. Usha Kumari. The entire program was expertly conducted by Dr. Jasbir Kour Bali, a Senior Demonstrator in the Department of Anatomy.
