Inter Zonal District Level Competition held at Khel Goan Nagrota

JAMMU, Sept 8: The Department of Youth Services and Sports in District Jammu organized an Inter Zonal District Level Competition for girls under the age group of U/19. The competition, held at Khel Goan Nagrota, featured various disciplines including Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Tug of War, Volleyball, Chess, and Carrom.
The tournament was conducted under the patronage of Director of Youth Services and Sports JK UT, Subash Chander Chibber (JKAS), guided by Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Sh. Suram Chand Sharma (KAS), and overall supervision by DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
Approximately 650 players representing all zones of District Jammu participated in this competition, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship. The primary objective of this competition was to select the best teams to advance to the next level of competition. The players exhibited great determination and spirit in their matches.
A panel of experts from the Department, along with convenors and other technical officials, officiated the matches to ensure the smooth conduct of the competition.
Here are the results for today's matches:
Tug of War U/19 Yrs. Girls:
Zone Miran Sahib beat Zone RS Pura by (2-0) sets.
Zone Dansal beat Zone Jourian by (2-0) sets.
Zone Dansal beat Zone Miran Sahib by (2-0) sets.
Kabaddi U/19 Yrs. Girls:
1st Semi Final: Zone Miran Sahib beat Zone Marh by 15 points.
2nd Semi Final: Zone Akhnoor beat Zone Jammu by 8 points.
Final: Zone Akhnoor beat Zone Miran Sahib by (40-29) points.
Carrom U/19 Yrs. Girls:
Single: Dhani Sharma (Zone Gandhi Nagar) - Winner.
Anshu Sharma (Zone Khour) - Runner up.
Double: Sonia and Dhanvi (Zone Gandhi Nagar) - Winners.
Simrant and Vaushika (Zone Akhnoor) - Runners up.
Volleyball U/19 Yrs. Girls:
1st Semi Final: Zone Jourian beat Zone Akhnoor by (2-0) sets.
2nd Semi Final: Zone Bhalwal beat Zone Gandhi Nagar by (2-0) sets.
Final: Zone Bhalwal beat Zone Jourian by (2-0) sets.
Kho-Kho U/19 Yrs. Girls:
1st Semi Final: Zone Bhalwal beat Zone Khour by (5-3) points.
2nd Semi Final: Zone Akhnoor beat Zone Dansal by (7-4) points.
Final: Zone Akhnoor beat Zone Bhalwal by (8-5) points.
Chess U/19 Yrs. Girls:
Zone Bhalwal beat Zone Jammu by (3-1) points.
The competition showcased the talent and competitive spirit of the young athletes, fostering a sense of sportsmanship and unity among the participants.
