Early Times Report SAMBA, Sept 8: In a swift response to a heinous crime, the Samba Police have successfully apprehended the accused involved in a gang rape case within 24 hours. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Ramgarh Police Station. The arrested individuals have been identified as Suresh Kumar alias Babu, son of Daljeet Singh also known as Ashoka, hailing from Tehsil Ramgarh in Samba district, Karandeep Singh alias Bunty, son of Swaran Singh also known as Shama, from Tehsil Ramgarh in Samba district, and Pankaj Targotra, son of Ajeet Paul from Tehsil Ramgarh in Samba district. A case under FIR No. 53/2023, filed under sections 457/363/376-D IPC, and the 3/4 POCSO Act, was registered at the Ramgarh Police Station, and the investigation is currently in progress. The arrest was carried out by Inspector Sham Lal, the investigating officer (IO), under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, emphasized that the police are taking prompt legal action against those involved in crimes against women within the Samba district. Perpetrators of such crimes are being swiftly arrested once evidence is collected, leaving them with no time to evade justice. |
