Induction ceremony marks beginning for 1st Prof MBBS students at ASCOMS

JAMMU, Sept 8: The Induction Ceremony for the 1st Prof. MBBS students (Batch 2023-24) at ASCOMS (Name of Institution) was conducted in the College auditorium on September 7, 2023. The ceremony brought together 1st Prof students, their parents, the institution's management, faculty members, and staff.
D.K. Batra had the honor of being the Chief Guest for this significant occasion. Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal of ASCOMS & Hospital, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics and Coordinator of the Medical Education Unit, provided an overview of the Induction Ceremony and acquainted the students with the new curriculum. The event was also attended by Officiating Director Principal Dr. K.S. Mehta, Dr. R. K. Gupta (Professor & Head of Paediatrics), Dr. Geetika Gupta (Professor & Head of Physiology), Dr. V.J. Chrungoo (Head of Biochemistry), and Dr. Bella Mahajan (Professor & Head of Microbiology), among others.
Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, addressed the gathering with inspiring words. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the decorum of the noble medical profession and urged the students to approach their studies with enthusiasm and integrity. He specifically advised the new entrants to steer clear of both mental and physical addictions.
The "Charak Shapath" was delivered in English by Dr. Zeenat Akhter, Head of the Department of Anatomy, while Dr. Usha Kumari administered the oath in Hindi. The 1st Prof. students solemnly took the oath. The entire event was conducted by Dr. Jasbir Kour Bali, Senior Demonstrator in the Department of Anatomy, and was organized by the Department of Medical Education.
The Induction Ceremony marked the beginning of a promising journey for the 1st Prof. MBBS students as they embark on their medical education at ASCOMS.
