Jodhamal public school student wins MIT app inventor appathon 2023

Jammu, Sept 8: Jodhamal Public School Sarthak Gupta, a 10th-grade student at Jodhamal Public School, has won the prestigious MIT App Inventor Appathon 2023 in the People’s Choice Category. The competition, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the App Inventor Foundation, featured participants from around the world who came together to create apps with the potential to bring about societal change.
Sarthak Gupta’s winning entry was an AI-powered health app called ‘Swasthya.’ This innovative application addresses mental health and well-being issues and boasts several features, including:
1. GyanAI: An intelligent chatbot with advanced capabilities.
2. Emotion Detection: Utilizes computer vision for emotion detection.
3. Emergency SOS: Allows users to call for help in emergencies.
4. Pedometer: Tracks users’ steps.
5. Yoga Tips: Provides tips and guidance for yoga exercises.
6. Nearby Services: Detects nearby medical stores and hospitals.
7. Community SOS: Facilitates community-based assistance.
Sarthak’s accomplishment is celebrated by the school’s management, staff, and fellow students. His victory showcases the innovative and visionary thinking of Jodhamal Public School’s students and faculty.
