Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Sept 12: The NSS Unit, Sewak, Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, organized a one-day workshop on the theme "Role of Yoga in Management of Substance-Use Disorders" under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India). The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal, yoga experts, and staff members, followed by a welcome address by the NSS Program Officer, Dr. Radha Rani. The session began with a Dhavni "OM" by Shreekrishna Sharma. The second expert, K.C Gupta, introduced participants to various Yoga Asanas and techniques such as developing presence of mind, scientific meditation, enhancing willpower, effective listening skills, clapping therapy, nostril control, self-examination, precautions, fostering a sound mind in a sound body, self-motivation, and personality improvement, among others. The experts encouraged all the students to actively engage in various types of Asanas and meditation. Addressing the students, Principal of the College, Prof. Hans Raj, emphasized the workshop's objective, which is to raise awareness about the ancient practices of yoga and their positive impact on physical and mental well-being. He urged the participants to incorporate yoga into their daily routines. During the workshop, students practiced various Yoga Asanas aimed at managing substance-use disorders. Participants reported feeling relaxed and positive after the yoga and meditation sessions, which they shared during the interactive session. The workshop was organized under the able guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, the College Principal. Dr. Radha Rani, NSS Program Officer, served as the convener of the program, and Dr. Swati Dutt was the event's organizer. Other individuals present at the workshop included Pardeep Kumar, Kumari Mahima Bhagat, Dr. Akhter Hussain, Zahoor Ahmed Mir and Neha Devi. |
