Jammu, Sept 16: Special DG Border Security Force, Western Command, Chandigarh, Y B Khurania, is in Jammu for three-day visit to review the security scenario at International international border. He was welcomed by D K Boora, IG, BSF Jammu. The IG Jammu Frontier, D K Boora, gave a detailed presentation on Friday to the top officer at Frontier Headquarters, covering all the critical aspects of border security and domination on Jammu IB and LC. IG Frontier, described the general security scenario of AOR, covering the deployment pattern of BSF battalions and their robust dominance aspects on the complete Jammu IB, said the spokesman. The Special DG BSF later visited the Samba border area, where he was briefed and informed about recent threats being faced by the BSF in the Samba area, ranging from tunnelling to cross-border smuggling by counterpart elements, he added. He was also shown various border domination aspects on the ground. A special emphasis was given to the drone threats posed by counterpart drones from across the border into Indian territory. The spokesman said that the Spl DG was also shown the all-round domination strategy of BSF on IB, covering the depth area as well. Khurania also addressed the troops on the ground and praised them for their effective border duties around the clock, he added. |
