Police seizes 12 vehicles used for illegal mining; 167 vehicles seized in eight months | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 1: In an ongoing crackdown on illegal mining, the Samba Police have seized twelve more vehicles that were being used for illegal mining activities in the district. This effort is part of a rigorous campaign against illegal mining under the direction of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh. Police teams, working under the supervision of various officers, have successfully confiscated these vehicles, bringing the total number of seized vehicles to 167 over the past eight months. The vehicles seized in this operation include six dumpers with registration numbers JK21G-1237, JK21G-9922, JK21G-4162, JK02BV-2458, JK21A-0221, and JK08H-0461, as well as five tractor trolleys with registration numbers JK21E-3976, JK08G-1655, JK21G-7032, JK02CW-6629, and JK21J-2363. Additionally, one tractor trolley without a registration number was also confiscated. Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, emphasized that the police are committed to curbing illegal mining activities in the district. The crackdown on the mining mafia will continue, and further stringent actions will be taken against those involved in illegal mining operations. The police have been actively pursuing illegal mining operations in the region and have seized a significant number of vehicles involved in these activities over the past several months. |
