Jammu, Oct 1: The killing of terrorists figured on the most wanted list of India going on in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, Mufti Qaiser Farooq, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Pakistan’s city of Karachi. This incident raised concerns in Pakistan as it follows a pattern of high-profile terrorists being eliminated in Pakistan. A video of this incident also went viral on social media. This was the ninth such killing of a top terrorist commander operating from across the border this year. According to reports in Pakistani media, unidentified armed individuals opened fire on Qaiser Farooq, aged 30 at the Gulshan-i-Umar seminary near the Edhi Centre before fleeing the scene. He had been kidnapped by unknown persons. • On September 30 Qaiser Farooq, Hafiz’s close aide and LeT terrorist was killed in Karachi. • On September 9, a terrorist wanted in India was shot dead by unidentified gunmen inside a mosque in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK). Riyaz Ahmad alias Abu Qasim, affiliated with the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba, was one of the main conspirators behind the Dhangri terror attack. • In March, a top commander of the banned Hizbul Mujahideen was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Pakistan's Rawalpindi. Bashir Ahmad Peer alias Imtiyaz Alam, who hailed from Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, had been living in Pakistan for more than 15 years. • In February, unidentified gunmen shot dead former Al-Badr Mujahideen commander Syed Khalid Raza in the port city of Karachi in what police described as a targeted attack. • Aijaz Ahmad Ahangar, a Kashmiri terrorist functioning as a top commander of the global terror group Islamic State, was found dead -- reportedly killed by the Taliban -- in Afghanistan's Kunar Province earlier this year. • In May, Khalistan Commando Force chief Paramjit Singh Panjwar was shot dead by two men on a bike in Lahore. • In January, Harmeet Singh alias Happy Ph.D was killed on the premises of a gurdwara near Lahore. Harmeet Singh was involved in narco-terror and training of Khalistani terrorists. Hospital. Qaiser Farooq succumbed to his injuries during treatment, having sustained bullet wounds to the back. Qaiser Farooq is one of the founding members of the banned and designated terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). He is known to be a close aide of the mastermind of the 26/11 terrorist attack on Mumbai and LeT chief Qaiser Farooq. Lashkar terrorist Qaiser Farooq shot dead in Karachi comes days after claims that Hafiz Saeed’s son has gone missing and that the ISI has been unable to locate him. Kamaluddin Saeed, one of the sons of the most wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed, has been missing since Tuesday (September 26). Kamaluddin Saeed was reportedly abducted in Peshawar by miscreants who came in a car. Hafiz Saeed is a Pakistani national and mastermind of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai and is an internationally designated terrorist, lodged in Pakitan’s jail. |
