JKAACL organizes Punjabi Kavi Darbar & cultural program in Nowgam, Anantnag” | | | Early Times Report
Nowgam, Oct 1: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) organized a Punjabi Kavi Darbar & Shabad Kirtan program in Nowgam, Tehsil Pahalgam, under the guidance of Sh. Bharat Singh JKAS, Secretary of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages. The event was attended by senior citizens, intellectuals, and young students from the region. The program commenced with the recitation of Gurbani Shabad by the renowned Ragi Popinder Singh & Party from Suransu, Anantnag. In his address, S. Salinder Singh, Member Secretary GPC Anantnag, commended the Academy for its efforts to promote regional languages, including Punjabi, which is widely spoken around the world. He emphasized that JKAACL has played a crucial role in the development of regional languages and has organized historic programs in various regions of Jammu & Kashmir to inspire the younger generation. Budding Punjabi poets from various villages in Tehsil Pahalgam presented their poetry on various societal issues and contemporary life situations. S. Joginder Singh, President of Gurduwara Committee Nowgam, praised JKAACL for organizing the literary program in Nowgam village to connect the new generation with literature and culture created in J&K. He highlighted the efforts of Secretary Sh. Bharat Singh and Editor Sheeraza Punjabi Popinder Singh Paras in organizing the Punjabi Mushaira and Cultural program in Nowgam. He stressed the importance of using Punjabi as a mother tongue at the family level and commended the participation and poetry presentations by new and young writers. Sh. Popinder Singh Paras mentioned that the Cultural Academy plans to hold literary and cultural activities in various locations across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasized that JKAACL provides a platform for new budding poets and artists to keep the region’s cultural diversity alive among the younger generation. He also expressed the intention to organize such programs in remote areas where rich traditional folk culture thrives. Budding students who recited their poetry and performed Shabad Kirtan included Arandeep Singh, Manjit Singh, Salinder Singh, Sanamdeep Kour, Avneet Kour, Ramandeep Kour, Gogy Kour, Akam Kour, Harleen Kour, Jaipla Singh, Mandeep Kour, Ravneet Kour, Simranvir Singh, Harpreet Singh Bali, Jaswinder Singh & Party, Rajinder Singh & Party, among others. The program was conducted by Salinder Singh, and the vote of thanks was given by Kingi Singh Bali (Foreman) from JKAACL. |
