Early Times Report SAMBA, Oct 4: Under the vigilant supervision of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, the police have successfully thwarted a bovine smuggling attempt. They apprehended three notorious bovine smugglers and confiscated the vehicle used for bovine smuggling within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sadam Hussain, son of Liyaqat Ali, hailing from Anantnag, Zakir Ahmed, son of Farooq Ahmed, also from Anantnag, and Muzaffar Choudhary, son of Ali Ahmed, from Chowadhi district in Jammu. A case, FIR No. 235/2023 under Section 188 IPC (Indian Penal Code) and 11 PCA (Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Act, has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana. The successful operation was conducted by a police team led by SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, disclosed that a total of eighty-eight (88) bovine smugglers have been apprehended by Samba Police in the past eight and a half months since the launch of a special drive. Additionally, sixty-eight (68) FIRs have been filed against bovine smugglers, fifty-eight (58) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized, and six hundred sixty-four (664) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district. |
