Lecture on "Say 'NO' to Drugs" Delivered at Government Degree College, Doda

JAMMU, Oct 4: Parag Chaturvedi, Second-in-Command of 31 Bn and Adhoc Commandant of Sashastra Seema Bal, delivered a lecture on the topic "Say 'NO' to Drugs" at Government Degree College, Doda in Jammu and Kashmir. The lecture aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and its consequences among the college students.
Key Points:
Speaker: Parag Chaturvedi, an officer in the Sashastra Seema Bal, addressed the students during the lecture. He was joined by Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, the Principal of Government Degree College, along with ASI Desh Raj, ASI Nitish Tripathi, and Ct Naresh. The lecture was attended by 181 college students.
Documentaries: As part of the program, the audience was shown three short documentaries highlighting the detrimental effects of drug abuse on individuals and society as a whole.
Youth Empowerment: Mr. Chaturvedi emphasized the importance of youth working towards their career goals and contributing to the betterment of their families, society, and the nation. He stressed the need for young individuals to stay away from various drugs, including Weed, Morphine, Heroin, Cocaine, and synthetic drugs like Methamphetamine, Ecstasy, and Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus.
Drug Addiction: The lecture highlighted that drug addiction not only burdens families, society, and the country but also leads to early and painful deaths. Breaking free from the cycle of drug addiction is extremely challenging, particularly for those from middle-class backgrounds.
Oath Against Drugs: The students were administered an oath to say "NO" to drugs under all circumstances.
Career Opportunities: Mr. Chaturvedi encouraged the students to consider careers in the armed forces, including the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Assam Rifles, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police. He emphasized the allure of a uniformed profession, highlighting the unique benefits it offers, which may not be found in other jobs. The lecture aimed to raise awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse on individuals and communities while motivating young students to make healthy life choices and pursue meaningful careers
