Kishtwar police registered FIR in connection with issuance of domicile certificate to Rohingya

KISHTWAR, Oct 4: Acting on the tip off about issuence of a domicile certificate to Rohingya women in Dachhan area of Kishtwar District, Kishtwar police register registered an FIR No 22/2023 U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120 B IPC at police Station Dachhan, Dated 3-10-2023 against the women and others for committing the fraud and conspiracy against the law of the land. Speaking to Early Times, SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal confirm the registration of an FIR against the Rohingya women identified as Anwara Begum A/P Kiyar Dachhan added that after registration of an FIR, the investigation has been set into motion, however no arrest has been made so far. The domicile certificate was issued on 19-9-2020 by the then Tehsildar Dachhan vide No. 4732/DC/TD/20 on the name of Anwara Begum wife of Faiz Ahmad R/o Kiyar Dachhan. The women in question also hold the ADHAAR Card. Anwara Begum was earlier also booked under FIR No: 14/2012 registered at police station Dachhan under session 3 of Passport Entry into India Act and 14 Foreign Act in 2012 along with 5 others and was convicted by the local court following submission of challan by the police in Kishtwar court. As per the previous case record, One Zahoor Ahmed Chopan of Kiyar Dachhan allegedly purchased Anwara Begum from one Noor-ul-Islam by paying an amount of Rs. 1 lac to him before she was arrested - but under immense political pressure then, Police skip Zahoor Chopan name in final challan produced in the court of law vide challan No. 10/2012 against five persons including two women's beside some juvenile was challaned separately.
