Directorate of Health Services hosts voluntary blood donation camp

JAMMU, Oct 6: The Directorate of Health Services Jammu organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on October 6, 2023, as part of the ongoing Ayushman Bhava Campaign. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Director of Health Services Jammu, inaugurated the camp. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Deputy Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director Planning Ms. Deepa Sharma, Chief Accounts Officer Ms. Deepshika Sharma, State Epidemiologist Dr. Harjeet Rai, Controller of Stores Jammu Dr. Ritesh Khullar, CMO Jammu Dr. Harbaksh Singh, State Venerologist, Zonal Leprosy Officer, Medical Superintendent of Government Hospital Sarwal, Nodal Officer NCD, and other officers and officials from the Directorate of Health Services Jammu and CMO Office Jammu.
Director Health Services Jammu led by example by voluntarily donating blood during the camp, setting a noble precedent for others to follow. Officers and officials from both the Directorate and CMO Office Jammu also participated in the blood donation drive. A total of fifteen units of blood were collected during the event, and these units were transported to the blood bank at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar in Jammu using a Blood Collection and Transportation Vehicle.
In addition to the blood donation drive, the camp also provided a service for ABHA ID generation. A total of forty ABHA IDs were generated by a team led by Dr. Mridula Singh, Medical Officer, deputed by CMO Jammu. The ABHA IDs are part of a scheme aimed at maintaining safer and more efficient digital health records for the benefit of employees.
The successful event was organized by the Health Education Bureau, Directorate of Health Services Jammu, and highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and promoting the spirit of goodwill and altruism in society.
