JAMMU, Oct 6: In a commendable initiative, Humanity Public School in Bassi Kalan, Samba, partnered with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Jammu & Kashmir branch office to organize a standard writing competition. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 83 students belonging to the school's standard club.
The competition commenced with a training and awareness session led by Kamal Kishore from RST BIS, Jammu, and Ashish from BIS. Kamal Kishore provided valuable insights into the diverse functions of BIS, elucidating how the standards for various household items, including gold and daily use products, are meticulously checked and maintained by BIS. The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial, not only for the students but also for the school staff members. Ashish (SPO) BIS also contributed by educating the students about the multifaceted roles of BIS.
To make the event even more memorable, a grand refreshment was served to all the participants and staff members. Participating certificates were distributed to all the students who took part in the competition. Additionally, merit certificates and cash prizes, including Rs 1000, 750, 500, and 250, were awarded to the students securing the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, along with consolation prizes.
